Some "Reasons" for our decision to homeschool

Our desire and goal is that we do not measure success by popularity, fame or fortune. For these have been shown in the scriptures to be temporary. But we measure success with God’s yardstick which is obedience, faithfulness and righteousness. Our goal is to raise our children with this yardstick.

We do not worry about the outcome of our children or their education. We truly desire that they would become children who are passionate about God and His kingdom, who are led by His spirit. But we entrust this matter into God’s hands now. Rather than worrying about the outcome, we focus on being good stewards of raising these children.

We do all we can,to provide them with a godly environment to be raised. To execute love and forbearance as we raise them and to point them to Christ in every matter, in every opportunity we get. To teach them this, that whether we eat or drink or whatever we do, we do it all for the glory of God.

We believe in protecting our children from evil influences. Protecting their hearts and minds from the ways of the world in their early years. We do not believe in isolation but in insulation. We want to use their formative childhood years, especially, to hammer into their hearts the Word of God thereby hiding His words in their hearts so that when they grow up and get exposed to the ways of the world, these children will not sin against God. They would know to discern godliness and choose to walk in the ways of God.

Our desire is not just to give them an education but also to prepare them for life. To teach them to function in the way God created them as male and female. To teach them to manage finances, to teach them to manage their homes. To teach our sons to lead in love and teach our daughters to submit in love. To teach them both to fear God & love man.

Then our sons will be like well-nurtured plants, our daughters like pillars carved to adorn a palace Psalms 144:12.

I want to keep adding to this list as God puts in my heart new thoughts.
