Why Are You Angry?

Why are you angry?

You could be angry because you did not get something.  Cain was angry because He did not get God’s favor. He wanted the worthship without worship. Genesis 4:6

You could be angry because your pride did not get it’s way. King Uzziah was angry at the priest who opposed him from burning incense to the Lord. Uzziah wanted wholeness without holiness. 2  chronicles 26: 19

You could be angry because you always wanted to be in control and you are not able to. Balaam was angry at his donkey because he lost control on navigation. Numbers22: 27.  Balaam wanted control without the right soul.

You could be angry because you were simply overlooked and someone else preferred. Miriam was angry at God’s preference over Moses. Miriam wanted preference without reference. Numbers 12: 1-2

You could be angry because you were accused by the same people you were trying to help and lead. Moses smote the rock and failed to honor God. Moses wanted justice without kindness. Numbers 20:10-11

You could be angry because someone else got something that was promised to you. Esau was angry at Jacob for deceitfully ridding him off his birthright. Esau wanted calling without surrendering. Genesis 27:41

You could be angry and afraid because you are overloaded and without rest. Elijah gave up on life and ministry in discouragement and started glamorizing his past ministry.  Elijah wanted rescue without respite. 1Kings 19:10

You could be angry because someone else was enjoying God’s blessings- The older brother in the story of the prodigal was angry at the feast and the special love of the father towards his younger brother. He wanted prosperity without purpose. Luke 15:28

You could be angry because you are not content. You want something someone else has. Ahab wanted his neighbors vineyard and was angry when refused. Ahab wanted accumulation without gratification. 1Kings 21:4

You could be angry because your entitlement was not served. Namaan was angry because Elisha did not serve him as he expected. He wanted respect without relation. 2 Kings 5:11

You could be angry because you find yourself losing focus on your primary responsibilities. Martha wanted deed without creed. Luke 10:38-42

You could be angry with someone’s words or actions because you saw your own sin that you hate, in them. The disciples were indignant with James and John for asking Jesus for a position. They wanted reference without perseverance. Mathew 20:24

You could be angry because your ignorance and hardness of heart is exposed by someones righteousness- the Pharisees wanted comfort without contrast. Luke 11:53

You could be angry because you found out you cannot contain God in a box. You did not get God to work the way you wanted. Jonah wanted passion without compassion. Jonah 4:1

You could be angry because someone you helped and brought up are thriving and became more than you. Saul was angry at David when David grew in his eyes. Saul wanted prominence without providence. 1 Samuel 18:8

You could be angry because you are insecure and  always fearful of someone else’s security- Haman was enraged when Mordecai would not bow down to him. Haman wanted recognition without distinction. Esther 3:5
